Luxembourg university has jumped 15 positions from #193 in 2015 to #178 this year in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) university rankings.

The University now ranks 86 among the European universities participating (compared to 99 in 2015). Furthermore, it was able to ascend to a joint first place for the international outlook in the global ranking, which it shares with Qatar University, making it one of the most international universities worldwide. This category takes into account the number of international students, Ph.D. students, researchers and academic and non-academic personnel into consideration, as well as the involvement of international co-authors in publications.

The results of the "The  World University Rankings"  2016/2017, one of the most acclaimed universities ranking worldwide, have been announced online this week. The University of Luxembourg took part in The Rankings for the first time in 2015. In comparison to last year, it improved its performance in every category.

The University of Luxembourg was founded in 2003, and is a multilingual, international research university with almost six thousand two hundred students and employees from around the world. The research focusses on computational sciences and ICT, system biomedicine, European law, finance, and education.
