The University of Luxembourg has today, Thursday 18 August 2016, announced that late registration to four of their Bachelor programmes in the winter semester 2016/2017 is now possible.

For students who did not apply for a Bachelor’s programme on time following their graduation from secondary school, the University of Luxembourg has stated that they have extended the deadline for registration to four out of the eleven Bachelor programmes they offer.

The registration deadline for the Bachelor of Science and Engineering and the Bachelor in Engineering is Friday 26 August, while enrollment for the Bachelor in Computer Science is still open until Monday 5 September 2016. Friday 26 August 2016 is also the deadline for registration for students interested in Humanities, specifically the Bachelor in European Cultures in the French sector, "Germanistik", History or Philosophy. Registration for certain Master courses will also be closed at the end of August. Detailed information is on www.uni.lu.

However, the University of Luxembourg added that late registrations are open only to citizens of the European Union. First they should register via the www.uni.lu/etudiants site. These registration deadlines are also valid for students who want to start their university studies in the winter semester, but will have to pass additional tests as part of the secondary school graduation exams. The diploma can be presented upon completion at a later date. Classes of the 2016/2017 winter semester is set on Monday 19 September 2016.

The University of Luxembourg has further explained that the Bachelor is the first academic degree, normally achievable after six semesters of enrollment. Students of the University of Luxembourg will have to pass at least one of the six semesters abroad.
