January 2016 will mark the first event of Luxembourg for Tourism, with the announcement that the national promotion agency of the Ministry of the Economy will be present at the country's Vakanz tourism fair to inform and assist excursionists with ideas for holidays in the Grand Duchy.
At the tourism fair, which will be taking place from 15 to 17 January 2016 at Luxexpo, Luxembourg for Tourism will be ready to present new leisure and vacation ideas to visitors, highlighting the country's three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, multicultural identity and multiple sports and leisure activities.
Opportunities and attractions include the Berdorf Aquatower, the Rumelange Mining Museum, urban walks, Esch-sur-Alzette's new youth hostel and specialised guides. Mondorf Domaine Thermal, Les Thermes and Pidal will also be present to reveal offers in the field of care and well-being.
The Luxembourg for Tourism stand will provide Moselle wine tastings from independent wineries and cellars in the region, with the public offered the opportunity to participate in the 'Wënzerspill' competition complete with prizes to win.
The Luxembourg for Tourism team will be available throughout the fair to offer an array of tourist brochures and the new edition of the Luxembourg Card, which gives free access or discounts to over 70 sights and attractions.
The Vakanz fair will be open from 14:00 to 21:00 on Friday 15 January, and from 10:00 until 19:00 on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 January 2016.
