lux-Airport and Valora Luxembourg today inaugurated the new “Press & Books” outlet of the secured area at the airport, fully renovated and redesigned; after a month of works, the newsagent has unveiled its new look to passengers.

By changing places in the boarding area, the new bookshop has been entirely reconfigured to give passengers greater purchasing comfort. Geared to an international clientele, Valora’s Press & Books concept, already in place at Zurich Airport, ensures a better presentation of products thanks to new and modern furniture and a simple and attractive layout.

Designed to meet the needs of passengers before departure, the Press & Books outlet of the boarding area boasts many books and press titles in different languages (German, French, English, Luxembourgish and Portuguese, in particular), as well as drinks, snacks, tobacco products, telephone cards and even souvenirs.

The works of the point of sale on the public side in the airport’s departure hall will begin at the end of this year. The opening is scheduled for the beginning of 2016.

The inauguration of this point of sale is the very first in a long series, because the new shops and catering outlets will be opening their doors in the terminal in the period from January 2016 to the beginning of spring. Twelve shops in all will be entirely renovated. This dynamism shows the determination of lux-Airport to modernise, improve and intensify the commercial offer of the airport in order to provide quality service to its customers and passengers.

Myriam Filali, General Manager of Valora Luxembourg, stated “We are delighted to be the first to change the face of the Airport with this new generation Press & Books outlet. I would like to thank all the companies as well as the Airport that have worked so hard to complete this new point of sale in time. Special thanks are in order for the Valora technical team and the management team headed by Mrs Lallemand for their commitment. We are now ready to welcome passengers and to offer them a moment of culture or relaxation through our products, with books and magazines, the means to get them to discover the Grand Duchy through our maps and souvenirs, a playful alternative while waiting with our toys and activity games and a moment of pleasure with our assortment of sweets. Finally, we are entering a new Press & Books era with the same priorities, namely a warm welcome and optimal customer service.”

Johan Vanneste, General Manager of Luxembourg Airport, said “I am impressed by this new Valora concept which is bound to please our customers. I wish to congratulate the Valora team and the technical teams who completed this new shop in record time, two months earlier than initially planned.”
