This week-end, Luxembourg city will have its 88th annual Braderie where shops offer discounts, many with stands on the pavements in front of their shops; over 400 retailers participate in this annual evevnt which is taking place officially on Monday 4 September 2017.

The country's largest Braderie - other towns and cities also hold their own - will be open for 11 hours on Monday, with Sunday shopping the previous day offering shoppers an additional oppoortunity to check out retail bargains.

More than 5km of the City Centre will be filled with over 400 retailers across the station area and the upper city districts of the capital, offering deals and discounts of collections old and new to celebrate 'Kiermesméindeg', or funfair Monday.

The streets of the city centre will become pedestrian zones, and visitors travelling by car will be able to use the Park&Ride carparks of Bouillon, Luxembourg-Sud and Kirchberg,

before taking advantage of City public transport to get to the stalls filled with savings. Parking at Place de l’Europe and Fort Wedell will be free-of-charge on Monday.

Also, on Saturday as well as on Sunday (Fouersonndeg / Fair Sunday), the use of all city buses (lines 1-31) will be free-of-charge. On Sunday, a shuttle service linking the P&R Bouillon with the city will operate every 10 minutes from 12:49 until 18:35. The P&R Stade (Route d'Arlon) will be served by lines 22 & 28 on Sunday every 15 minutes from 12:57, until 18:37.

On a less positive note for the public, the Pfaffenthal lift will be closed between Tuesday 5 September at 09:00 until Wednesday 6 September at 06:00, for monthly maintenance.

The Monday Braderie will be open from 08:00 until 19:00.
