The Peninsula 5-star luxury hotel in Beijing now serves meals on high quality, exclusively designed tableware from Villeroy & Boch, joining the illustrious company of the likes of the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem Hotel, the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi and the Venice Simplon Orient Express.

With 27 years of history, the Peninsula Beijing was one of the first luxury hotel in China‘s capital city and still is one of the most reputed five star hotels in Beijing. In Winter 2015 a comprehensive renovation began. All the public areas were reopened in May 2016, the first batch of new rooms will be released by August 2016.

As part of the restaurant and lobby renovation the dishware was also replaced. The contract for the design of an exclusive dish series for the new “Fun Fine Dining Outlet” was given to the Hotel & Restaurant Division of Villeroy & Boch. Thanks to its outstanding décor technology, Villeroy & Boch is in the position to realise exclusive custom products and decorative solutions that are perfectly aligned with the ideas and desires of customers.

Exquisite Special Design

In collaboration with those responsible at The Peninsula, the design team at Villeroy & Boch in Luxemburg developed a new, exquisite décor for tableware products: its inter-pretation of the theme “Secret Garden” is young, modern and fresh, while at the same time reviving traditional Chinese elements with modern accents. Perfectly complementing the interior design’s silver and mother-of-pearl, the discreet, elegant motif was translated with shaded branches and twigs in the classic Villeroy & Boch signature to the classically elegant dish forms of Stella Hotel made of the finest Premium Bone Porcelain.

The new dishes from The Peninsula Beijing are made in Germany and meet the highest standards of quality both in terms of material and in their manufacture.
