The Association of British and Irish Accountants a.s.b.l. (ABIAL) held its AGM on Thursday 7 July 2016 at La Cave à Fromage; the meeting was attended by almost 30 members and guests. ABIAL represents accountants of five UK and Irish accountancy bodies in Luxembourg, the Association has over 650 members.

Jason Rea, from Fundsquare, was appointed the new Chairman of the Association after serving as the Vice-Chairman. He succeeds Kerry Nichol from EY after three years. Jason says “The ABIAL provides a forum for all Accountants, and Accountancy students, based in Luxembourg, whether working for the Big 4, smaller practices, Funds sector and industry. The Association organises several Professional events throughout the year as well as providing excellent social and networking opportunities”.

David Bannerman from Marcol Luxembourg was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Association. David is looking forward to another year of great events with inspiring speakers.

ABIAL also thanked PwC Luxembourg who support them on all administrative matters on a voluntary basis.

The well-attended AGM was followed by a culinary cheese and wine tasting around the world.
