this Thursday 12 May will be International Diversity Day; the Small Business Initiative, a group of SMEs and independents, who have come together to go further together for diversity, are organising their own celebration to mark the occasion.

"Acting for Diversity and common ground“ is the motto of the Diversity Day on the 12 May. On this day organisations, which have signed the diversity charter, are committed to promote and support diversity in all its shades within their companies; this being workshops, conferences or other events around the topic.

The Small Business Initiative, which already last year with it’s Awareness Walk, drew attention to diversity and what the initiative stands for, will repeat the event of The Awareness Walk on Thursday 12 May 2016. Hopefully even more people will be attending and guaranteed with more balloons that will be released at 16:00 from Place de l’Europe in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

After the launch of the Awareness Walk by the Minister of Family and Integration, Corinne Cahen, at 14:30, the Small Business Initiative and its supporters carrying over 1,000 balloons will walk from Place d’Armes, through rue Philippe II, the Glacis and the Red Bridge towards the Philharmonie and Place de l’Europe.

The Small Business Initiative has confirmed that the Awareness Walk for Diversity on Thursday 12 May is open to all, with the group assembling at 13:30 at the Place d’Armes in Luxembourg city. Everyone is welcome and the initiative is looking forward to your active participation and support.

A number of organisations have already pledged their support to this initiative, including Atoz, Baloise, Bureau Center, Charles Oakes and Vodafone.

The founders of the Small Business Initiative include Sparx Factory S.A. (Catharina Biver), Look@Work (Florence Lemeer-Wintgens), LeneLife, (Lene Pedersen), Luxe Taste & Style Publishing - KACHEN Magazin (Bibi Wintersdorf).
