Casino2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains has announced that the 2016 edition of their hugely-popular three day event “Festival Saveurs & Légendes” (Festival of Flavours & Legends) will take place from Thursday 5 May until Saturday 7 May, with the support of the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture.

The festival aims to pay tributes to no less 45 artists, concerts, albums and songs that have put their mark on history of music. The festival also seeks to support young talent by way of a competition. The festival held in 2015 drew over 7,000 spectators.

David Bowie and Michael Jackson will both be remembered, as will James Brown along with Houcine (the finalist of Star Academy 2) who will be performing live. A series of other tribute artists are also set to perform, including: Zucchero by Overdose d’Amore, Lionel Richie by Isaac Roosevelt, Telephone by T-lephone Export, Johnny Hallyday by Thierry Luthers, Goldman by Goldmen and France Gall by Hong Kong Stars and Muse by Museum.

Several members of Les Charlots (Jean Sarrus, Jean-Guy Fechner and Richard Bonnot) will be performing with seven other musicians on stage to celebrate their 50th anniversary since the group was formed.

The competition will be held on Thursday 5 May at 14:00 with eight groups competing (four French, three Luxembourgish and one Belgian). The jury will be composed of six members from the media and arts communities.

Saturday 7 May will focus on Rock and Hard Rock of the 70s (The Police, U2, AC/DC). Playing on this evening will be Back to the Police (F), Achtung Babies (I) and High Voltage (B).

Street workshops dedicated to the visual arts will be hosting painters, sculptors and graffiti artists working at location in order to show their technique and style.

During the three days of the festival, Casino2000 will be serving a variety of street food from Europe, America, Asia and Africa.

The day pass for this event will cost €19 and is available to adults only and will allow the wearer to access any part of the Festival.
