Having been awarded a Grammy for the album 'Sings' in collaboration with Angélique Kidjo and the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg (OPL), Luxembourg conductor, composer and arranger, Gast Waltzing, will be unleashing his talents this spring as conductor for a series of concerts in China, the Grand Duchy, France and the Czech Republic.
In April, the artist will lead the People's Liberation Army Band at the Military Music Concert Hall in the Chinese capital of Beijing, before ending the month with a concert at the Shanghai Centre Theatre, where he will lead the renowned JZ Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by trumpeter Li Xiaochuan.
Gast Waltzing will return to familiar territories for the month of May with a concert alongside Adriana Calcanhotto and the OPL, before accompanying Il Volo for their performance at the Rockhal on 27 May 2016. The following day will see the release of the second installment 'D'Pierle Vum Da' of the Orchestre National de Jazz du Luxembourg, which was arranged and produced by Gast Waltzing, on the label Waltzing Parke. This will be celebrated with a concert at Neimënster conducted by Mr. Waltzing.
The advent of summer will see Gast once again join Angélique Kidjo on stafe for two concerts, beginning with the Fête de la Musique in Luxembourg on 21 June alongside the OPL, followed by a second in Prague on 14 July accompanied by the Prague Symphony Orchestra. In between these two dates, a 9 July concert will see he conductor lead the Orchestre Régional Bayonne Côte Basque at the Gare du Midi in Biarritz, France.
