Les Templiers de Provence has won the Silver Medal at Thursday's regional Olive Oil Competition in Marseille, France.

The 14th annual Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur contest awarded the Silver Medal to the olive oil produced by Luxembourg resident Tom Seale. He has culivated a plot in Provence and started planting olive trees a number of years ago. The 2015 harvest resulted in around 4,000 litres of olive oil being produced, the crop from around 600 trees.

Around 10,000 olive oil farmers operate within this region; each year sees an average of 200 entries for the competition, from Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes, Bouches-du-Rhône, Var and Vaucluse.
